How Does It Work?

I use a unique, proven process that I tailor to your specific needs and which uses the very best therapeutic approaches available. This will equip you with the tools you need to help you manage your anxiety and reclaim your life.

Telephone Consultation​

The first step in the process will be for us to have an informal, thirty minute phone call to talk through what you need help with, what you want to achieve and how the therapy process would work.

This a free, no risk service

We would discuss the sort of help I could provide, how many sessions we might need and the costs involved. If we are both happy to work together I would then design a Therapy Programme specific to you.

Therapy Programme

I will usually ask for some more information via email after our initial phone call and use this to design a Therapy Programme for us to work through together.   I use a range of therapy tools, each of which has its particular strengths. Some are more relevant to certain types of disorders or may be more appropriate at different stages of our work together. This unique, combined approach delivers a powerful process that can be profoundly transformational.

Psychosensory Therapy

Psychosensory therapy combines talking, visualisation, eye movements and therapeutic touch to alter how the brain stores difficult memories, de-linking the painful, negative emotions so we can deal with those memories in a more positive way.

Early in the programme we define what you want to achieve through the therapy sessions and we use this to measure our progress as we move through the process.

Most programmes are typically five sessions lasting over a two month period. The first two sessions are weekly and the remainder slightly further apart. This gets you up to speed quickly with the techniques that you will be using with enough time to put them into practice between sessions. 

You are fully supported by me throughout this process and I am available by phone and email to provide any help or guidance you need.

Following each session I send you an email recapping all of the new techniques we covered together with supporting information and links.

As we move through the programme, we look at how things are progressing. In nearly all cases we start to see positive results after two or three sessions. Towards the end of the programme we decide how to move forward thereafter; more often than not, moving into a post therapy care phase.

Post Therapy Care

Having completed the Therapy Programme you will be equipped with the core tools and techniques needed to manage the anxiety and stress that was causing your difficulties and you will have a set of transferable skills that you can use when faced with any future challenges.

You will have all of my emails outlining the techniques and the work we have completed together as a reference for the future.

I am available to you for phone and email support if needed and should we decide that it might be useful to do a follow on session for any reason then we can book one of those at the same rate as we agreed for the therapy programme. For  complex or more structured on-going support requirements I offer a Beyond Therapy Aftercare Programme.

Beyond Therapy Aftercare

For existing or previous clients, the Beyond Therapy Aftercare Programme builds on the therapeutic support from your initial programme and offers support on any number of levels. It could be helping to cement these new, healthier habits in place as permanent lifestyle changes, evolving those techniques to deal with new problems when they arise or building on these new abilities to make your life as fulfilling, meaningful and joyful as possible. Whatever the driver, we can work towards defining a tailored programme to support you.
